The Socialists of Tirana elected Sajmir Tahiri for leading the capital’s branch for the next four years.
After the ballot count, Tahiri won 290 votes, while the other candidate for this post, Ilir Zela, received 153 votes.
Before the voting, the candidates addressed a concluding speech to the 620 members of the Tirana Socialist Branch, who were to elect the leader of one of the best SP branches.
The first to vote was the Socialist President, Rexhep Mejdani, then the opposition leader, Edi Rama.
Mr. Rama preferred to not speak for the Tirana voting, regardless the media interest, but exploited it as a good opportunity for meeting and discussing with the Tirana Socialists.
