Russia expressed concern regarding the recent declarations of Albanian
Prime Minister Edi Rama and Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, who both said
that if the EU path was to be closed, Albania and Kosovo would unite.
Russia says this declaration aims to review the borders in Balkan, and
destabilize Southern Europe.
A press communication released by the Russian Foreign Ministry, Moscow says that there are efforts to implement the “Greater Albania” project, which is based on the Albanian Constitution, and which allows Tirana to defend rights of Albanians abroad, wherever they are located.
According to Moscow, the destabilization is being done under NATO watch, by adopting a policy that aims to review borders in Balkan, which increases the potentials for conflict.
The Russian Ministry mentions the declaration of the Presheva valley Albanians, who would like to be united with the Albania-Kosovo state, and goes even further by saying that the “Tirana Platform” of Macedonia, approved by the Albanian parties there, is undermining the foundations of the Macedonian state.
The Russian Foreign Ministry also expressed its support to the declarations of Serbian Prime Minister, now elected President, and Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs.
