In the editorial office of the Fiks Fare program complained yesterday residents of the Ura e Kuçit area, located between Lushnje and Dimal, which connects about 20 villages with a population of 6000 inhabitants in the southwest of Albania.
They say that their common problem was the lack of a bus stop as they are forced to wait for the bus just half a meter from the highway asphalt. According to them, this has led to many accidents on this location.
“Trucks pass here at 90 km/h and it is difficult for us who wait on the road, as accidents have happened. Three such dangerous incidents have occurred within the month,” says one of the residents.
To the journalist’s question if they have addressed any institution for this problem, they say that they have made three requests to the Directorate of Transport, the Ministry and the Directorate of Roads, but they have not received an answer or a solution.
After hearing the residents’ request, Fiks Fare inquired at the transport directorate, where specialist Ardian Hasa explained that the road could be intervened into based on a technical report and an audit report on road safety for the segment.
He explained that the residents had to submit a request and a petition to the authorities, and once this step is taken, the DPSHTRR agency will then come to the aid of the residents. But even though the issue requires its own time, the residents did not delay in filing their request and petition, with the hope that things will begin to move.
