Three young jewelry robbers and handbag snatchers were arrested today in
Tirana, while the Police are inspecting all jewelries where they have
sold their stolen objects.

The General Police Directory warned all jewelry merchants who buy stolen products that they will face the consequences of law.

The action that was held in cooperation with the Tax Directory aims to stop the sale of illegal objects in the market. Every retailer that will not have the respective documentation for the jewelries they sell, will be prosecuted.

“We have taken a series of steps for stopping and solving the violent robbery cases, and also to stop the illegal activities in the jewelry market. All smuggled products will be seized and everyone who takes part in an illegal activity will be prosecuted”, the Police Directory declaration states.

At least 89 persons have been arrested this weekend in Albania, more than 15 of whom are charged of illegal arm possession, including two foreign citizens.

A Romanian citizen was arrested in Shkoder suspected of distributing drugs, and a Macedonian citizen was arrested in Durres, after an arrest order released from France for participation and creation of organized crime gangs.
