The European Commission approved the recommendations of the member
countries to open the negotiations for the Stabilization-Association
agreement with Kosovo. The joint report at the Parliament and European
Council says that since December 2012, Kosovo fulfilled all short-termed
priorities in the feasibility study.
“Kosovo showed its commitment in the war against organized crime and corruption. Kosovo undertook some important steps for a stable improvement in the dialogue with Serbia, in full accordance with the conclusions of the December 2012 Council meeting”.
On the other hand, the European Commission recommended the start of the dialogue for Serbia’s EU accession.
“The Commission assessed that Serbia fulfilled the key priorities in improving the relation with Kosovo. For this reason, the Commission recommends opening the negotiations with Serbia for EU membership”.
