Although Tirana’s Mayor declared that there had been a wide consultation
with the residents for the widening of the Elbasan Road, the residents
and business owners have no information about the construction.
Asked by Top Channel, they say that they fear the fate of their properties and the compensation.
“They say that the road will go this way, but they have built no canalizations or anything. Certainly, we are afraid”, another resident declared.
“The news was communicated partially, not formally, by an engineer”, says a resident whose business might be at risk.
Besides gossip-like information, the residents have received no official annunciation for the spaces that will be affected by the work.
“I don’t know if they will pay us. We have no answer. I don’t want to give my property, unless there will be an adequate compensation”, another one underlines.
The Municipal Council meeting of two days ago continued through harsh debates involving even the Mayor, Lulzim Basha.
The project for the widening of the Tirana-Elbasan road has been in the focus of public debates for weeks now.
