A car exploded this morning in Vlora and it’s by luck that the driver was saved with no serious injuries.
The event took place at 08:45 hrs on the TransBalcanic road. The vehicle was travelling in the east lane from Vlora to Skele and explosion occurred when the car was entering the car wash.
According to witnesses at the crime scene, the vehicle explosion occurred immediately after the owner parked and locked the car door. As a consequence, 40-year-old Bashkim Brahimaj was injured and currently is in hospital, out of danger to life.
Police secured the area and interrogated the car owner, and the car wash workers, who have seen and crime. The police are investigating in connection with the activities of the car owner. The explosive was put at the engine and is activated via remote control. The uncoordinated time has made it explode at the moment when its owner had just got out of the car.
This is not the first attempted attack of this kind. The most tragic was the one that killed the judge Skerdilajd Konomi, in Vlora city center. The authors of such crimes were never caught because they leave no traces.
