Relatives accuse police for teenager’s suicide

A 17-year-old committed suicide in Homesh village, Shupenze commune.
Drilon Dema was taken several times by the police, suspected of stealing
some chicken from his neighbour. The 17-year-old was found dead in a
tree 100 meters from his house, where he had hanged himself.

The shocked relatives say that everything happened because Drilon was mistreated at the police.

The victim’s brother said that he asked the coroner about the cause of death, and received a document that has no signature, and both denying and confirming evidence.

The person who took care of the teenager’s body in hospital said that he noticed damaged at the genital organs.

Police had declared that the victim had not signs of violence in his body after his death. All of this took place in an area like Bulqize, where the authorities never answer for the several victims in the chrome mines, but a teenager can be mistreated for stealing chicken.
