The Ministry of Education will allow teachers and parents to be a key
part in the selection of the best school texts for their children.
School Directors and the Education Directory will not be part of this commission, as a way to avoid the clientelist and abusive selections.
The head of the Education Minister, Agim Leka, declared that the application of this method will bring better texts.
“This is part of building a system of new relations that the Ministry of Education will have with the publishing houses. It is a new system of relations that the Ministry of Education will have with those who select texts, who are teachers, and not the way of organization. It will also be about the transparency, for which we will include the entire parent community for chosing the texts. This is part of the reform. Schools are an important communitary center”, Leka declared.
While the Commission established at the Ministry of Education will review all texts that have been planned so far, the Ministry of Education mentioned a delicate point, that of increasing the hours of physical education in schools.
“From the next September, we will have an improved situation as regards physical education. While we go there, in every school directory in 12 districts of the country, we will have a person who will be responsible to investigate the situation with all hours of physical education, human resources, sportive activities and so on”, Nikolla declared.
The increasing of physical education hours is very important today, with the increase of obese children and a reduced number of play hours.
