The Democratic Party will demand the implementation of the 138 recommendations of the Venice Commission for the justice reform.
They accuse Prime Minister Edi Rama of avoiding these recommendations to capture the justice system.
The opposition stands to the conviction that the reform is vital, but “only if it is a reform that removes corrupted prosecutors and judges by not touching the justice independence, and by respecting the recommendations of the Venice Report before December 21st”, declared MP Eduart Halimi.
For the Democratic Party, the only purpose when avoiding these recommendations is to grab the control of the justice system, and Prime Minister Edi Rama is in an open conflict of interest.
“He wants to capture justice to defend the criminals with whom he governs”, Halimi said.
What divides the parties even more seems to be the qualified majority for key structures, as determined by the draft of the experts of the majority. According to the democrats, this goes against the Venice recommendations.
