Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future
The Central Election Commission discussed today the referendum request for the waste import law.
The representatives of the “Alliance Against Waste Import” defended their request for holding this referendum and presented 65.000 signatures and photocopies of the identity cards. CEC delayed the procedure for answering to this request.
But US Ambassador Alexander Arvizu criticized this decision. After the critic, CEC declared that they had data that the signatures were falsified and that they were verifying the entire list.
The discussion focused on the originality of the signatures, and after the review at the Commission, the request will go to the Constitutional Court for verifying the proposition.
After three hours of debates, the Central Election Commission decided to continue the debate tomorrow.
