Referendum against waste import

The next meeting of the Alliance Against the Waste Import was with the
young students of the private universities, where they appealed them to
sign against the law that would allow the import of foreign wastes in
Albania.

The coordinator of this action, Aldo Merkoci, explained the students how they could sign for the referendum, in accordance with the Central Election Commission’s request.

He underlined the significance of the process, as a direct reply of the citizens to a law that directly damages their life and health.

The Alliance Against Waste Import says that they have collected more than 10.000 signatures, but the action will continue with intensity in the days to come.

The 50.000 signatures are expected to be collected within February, as a condition for organizing the referendum against the waste import.
