Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Red and Black alliance declared that the Census was a process asked
by only some specific Balkan factors, for declaring one part of Albania
as of Slavic origin.
“The Red and Black Alliance, with its branches in Tirana, Tetovo and Prishtina, notes that the Census was a failed attempt for those who wanted to make Northern Albania Slavic and Southern Albania Greek, with the orientations that the Census forms had”, declared Ardian Leka, activist of this movement.
According to the Alliance, the process in question might be considered failed, since more than half of the population has not been registered.
“65% of the population has refused to register. There have been cases when the forms were filled by one person for the entire family, the entire apartment building or neighborhood. The process failed, because it started as a failure”, Leka underlined.
The reaction of the Alliance came after the declaration of the INSTAT director, who said that the process would continue until the entire population was registered.
Earlier this month, the activists of the Red and Black Alliance held a parade in New York, with the participation of the Albanian Community.
Two days later, the RBA leader, Kreshnik Spahiu, held meetings with representatives of the US Congress and the Senate, with whom he discussed about the Albanian issues.
By the end of the month, the activists declared that there were evidence for abuses.
