The Politics tried to interfere for the first time in the University
elections by favoring different candidates and trying to manipulate the
students.
The Rector of the Tirana University, Dhori Kule, who won his second mandate, underlined that the students have not been involved in this climate, for most of the time.
“They tried to inject a poisonous virus to the University, and this was a test that showed if this institution would be able to confront it or not. Political structures were involved in very bad situations, distributing propaganda in the shadows”, Kule declared.
Kule explained that the elections in universities should serve as a model for the Albanian politics, which should stay outside the faculties where the new Albanian generations study.
In this press release, Kule added that many young students, part of political structures, have distributed papers filled with offences against the candidates.
The ballot counting in universities ended this Tuesday and certified the winners. In many Tirana faculties there has been only one candidate.
The only incident during the process was that of the Music Faculty, at the Academy of Arts, where the ballot count was blocked after the Commission members refused to sign.
