RBA submits referendum request at CEC

The Red and Black Alliance handed over at the Central Election
Commission a request for holding a referendum about the unification of
Albania and Kosovo, an initiative that was made public on November 28th
in Morina.
The RBA leader, Kreshnik Spahiu, declared that the Albanian states must enter the EU as an Albanian federation with two units that don’t change the borders, but removes them.
“The Albanian Federation with two units gives the opportunity for the Albanians to enter the EU as an Albanian federation. The unification will happen before the EU membership. This is an obligation that the Albanian political class must have, and they must prove that they are not held hostage by anti-Albanian countries”, Spahiu declared.
According to the RBA leader, the referendum is an historic act, while the unification of the two countries that have divided a nation in two has no obstacles from foreign or domestic factors, and is based on the UN international conventions.
“Albania and the Albanians, after the jubilee of the 100th anniversary of independence, entered the 100th anniversary of their division. One century after the barbarian division of the Albanian ethnic lands we come here with a historic act, to file at the Central Election Commission the request to start the procedures for the unification of the two Albanian states. The self-determination principle is the basis of popular sovereignty. This request is a test for Citizen Sali Berisha to prove that he is not held hostage by Belgrade. Berisha must not dare to hamper the right of millions of Albanians for self-determination”, Spahiu declared.
