
The General Secretary of NATO, Anders Fogh Rasmussen rejected the idea of dividing Kosovo.
During a meeting with the President Atifete Jahjaga, Rasmussen expressed his concern for the situation in north and underlined the need for finding a stable solution.
“It is important to continue the dialogue between Prishtina and Belgrade. On its behalf, NATO will continue to play its role for guarding peace in Kosovo”, Rasmussen declared.
He also promised the help of the Alliance in specializing and modernizing the Security Forces in Kosovo.
In this direction, President Jahjaga declared that Kosovo should become part of the Peace Partnership, although four members of it have not recognized its independence.
She also added that the institutions of Kosovo are committed to normalize the situation in north and for implementing the agreement with Serbia.
