The NATO General Secretary, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, guaranteed that NATO
will take the situation on terrain in deep consideration before taking
any decision for removing its Presence in Kosovo, and that they will
stay in the country for as long as it is needed.
In an interview for “Koha Ditore”, Rasmussen spoke about the situation in North, the need for finding a stable political solution and insists that the Allies and Partners are committed to build a calm and stable Kosovo for all its citizens.
The newspaper writes that NATO has had a difficult year, while Kosovo remains a challenge.
Faced with the need to cut costs, many NATO members want to diminish their contribution in the Kosovo Mission. But the situation on terrain, with the violence escalating in north, served as a reflection that NATO should not rush to reduce their presence in Kosovo.
