In an interview for Reuters, the Serbian Prime Minister, Alexander
Vucic, declared that the Serbian side has not decided yet if they will
host Rama on October 22nd.
Now it has been officially confirmed that the visit of Prime Minister Rama has been put into question by the Serbian authorities. Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic declared for Reuters that he will decide by the end of the week if Rama will be his guest in Belgrade or not.
“We are not afraid to dialogue, but it seems that someone else doesn’t want this. They want to threaten Serbia and spread destabilization in the region. I can see him in the eye, and anyone else”, the Serbian Prime Minister declared.
Although he guaranteed that he would help punishing those who attacked Albanian businesses in Serbia these days, this promise was for another reason.
“I want to appeal to the Serbian people to be responsible. Our obligation is to show the difference between us and them. We must show seriousness, more responsibility and respect the rights of minorities throughout the country”, Vucic underlines.
Said in this way, the Serbian Prime Minister’s commitment to punish the authors of these attacks is not news.
What he admitted for the first time, that he wasn’t sure about the visit of the Albanian Prime Minister in Serbia, seems to be a question that he already had even before the match.
At least this can one tell, since Belgrade had not confirmed the agenda that the Albanian side sent 10 days ago through our embassy in Belgrade and that has been discussed in the meeting that our Ambassador had with the Chief of Cabinet at the Serbian Prime Minister’s Office. No answer has arrived from the Serbian side.
This Thursday, the Albanian Protocol sent the same program to the Serbian government, together with a note of protest. The draft agenda proposed by Albania includes a meeting with the Serbian Prime Minister, the Serbian Parliament Speaker, a visit in Belgrade, and a visit in Presheva, where the Albanian Prime Minister would hold a meeting with the residents of the Bujanoci commune.
But now it is unclear what decision will be taken by Belgrade for the Vucic-Rama meeting that has been intermediated in Brussels and Berlin.
Sources for Top Channel say that what is certain is that if Edi Rama will visit Serbia, that visit will also include Presheva.
