Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The opposition leader, Edi Rama, invited once again the Prime Minister
and all Parliamentary party leaders to sit and find a democratic
solution to the Fier District issue, and immediately vote the three
integration laws.
Rama thinks that this meeting could bring the necessary consensus and that the time is running.
“Whoever wants the candidate status for Albania, has the obligation to make every effort today”, Rama declared, “proving that Albania not only approves but also implements laws”.
Rama said that he is ready to fulfil the opposition’s obligations and the Prime Minister should do the same.
The opposition leader underlines that five important EU countries consider the three acts as insufficient for the status, because the implementation of these laws is what is required, not just the signing of the laws.
Wollfarth: Consensus, not impossible
The OSCE Ambassador to Tirana, Eugen Wollfarth, expressed his concern about the situation created in the country.
“Failing to pass these laws is a disappointment. The decisions should be taken in the right time”, Wollfarth declared.
The ambassador underlined that the increase of consensus might seem difficult, but it is not impossible.
