Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The opposition will be looking for a larger coalition in the next
elections in order to remove the government that the Socialist leader,
Edi Rama, considered a “regime” in Top Channel’s program “Top Story”.
When asked if he was ready to cooperate with the newly formed party led by the former President Bamir Topi, NDS (New Democratic Spirit), The SP leader declared that the creation of a wide opposition coalition was an urgent need.
“There is a historical need to create an opposition front, and I am convinced that most of the Albanians feel that this is the moment to make a clear choice. I think that they will not be tempted by any midway solution, such as the alternative chosen in 2009 which made the votes they gave against Berisha to be used for Berisha, and with this I am completely referring to the Socialist Movement for Integration”, Rama declared.
While explaining the details of the political and economic program at the Socialist Party, Rama declared that the platform reflects ideas of Barack Obama’s campaign. Rama explained the that removal of the small business tax would liberate many self-employed people who hardly meet their ends, while the progressive tax for big business would not be a burden, but it would relieve these businesses from the corruption cost and useless fines from the current tax administration.
As for the former political prisoners’ issue, after speaking about Lirak Bejko, the political prisoners who set himself on fire and died, Rama promised to compensate this category faster.
“Every political prisoner more than 75 years old will be fully compensated on the first day of our mandate, and we will offer free public services to all the others”, Rama declared.
As for the political climate, Rama declared that for the Socialists it is essential to get the court orders implemented regarding the political stalemate created by the Fier District.
