Rama: We’re open to dialogue, but we’ll not negotiate the government elected by people

The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, declared in today’s Parliamentary session that the opposition is contesting the elections which their commissioners certified in 2017 without any opponence.

Rama said that the opposition is demanding power on a discussion table.

“This Parliament is what the majority of Albanians voted, and it has given us the task to run the country until 2021. Our mandate is no gambling card. We don’t play with it. They (the opposition) is demanding what they have always demanded: power on a discussion table, without votes”, Rama said.

“We will always lay a hand for dialogue, but we will never negotiate the basic rules of democracy, the parliament and the majority. We will continue the judiciary reform through the new majority”, Rama said.
