Rama: We don’t approve Zaganjori

The Socialist leader, Edi Rama, declared that the opposition will not
propose a candidate while the majority must propose several candidacies,
so that we can have an alternative for finding who we will elect and
who not, rather than insisting consensus for Zaganjori, whose candidacy
Rama didn’t approve.

“Give us the opportunity to give consensus, by creating the conditions for a wider election, beyond a single name. When this will happen, there will be the conditions for us to be pro-active, and there will be a process of the product identification.
We expect the other party to offer someone beyond Zaganjori, with a mentality that avoids the “bring names and remove names” story, in order to contribute for the consensus, for finding an adequate name proposed by the other part or parties, and when we completely agree, we will elect the president through consensus and for this reason we are looking for more than one candidate. We are not talking about electing the list offered by the Democratic Party, but finding an agreement for someone in a list of names. We want consensus and we need the conditions for consensus. We don’t want an impartial candidate who is imposed to us. We are losing time, not only for the immunity removal, but also for the electoral reform, which we can resolve within a day. The electoral reform issues can be resolved within one day, and I am sure that if we resolve them before the Parliamentary session, we will have our right, as representatives of the Albanian people, to as the EU a positive answer for the candidate status”, Rama declared.
