Encouraging commerce and investments were the focus of the 2-day-visit
of the Albanian Prime Minister in Qatar, invited by his homologue, Sheik
Abdullah Bin Nasser Al Thani.
Accompanied by ministers and the mayors of Durres and Lezhe, the Prime Minister held several meetings with the representatives of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the Head of Investment Authority in Qatar, Ahmad M. Al-Sayed.
The talks in these meetings focused in enlarging the presence of Qatar businessmen in Albania, in the areas of energy, tourism and agriculture.
Rama was received in a special meeting by the Prime Minister of Qatar, Sheik Abdullah Bin Nasser Al Thani. By the end of the meeting, the Foreign Minister, Ditmir Bushati, singed two agreements with the government of Qatar.
“The agreement between the governments of or countries are related to the employment regulation in Qatar”, which regulates the employment of Albanian citizens in Qatar. We also signed the Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in the health area”.
On the second day of his visit, the Albanian Prime Minister was received in a special meeting by the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheik Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani.
In this meeting they discussed about increasing the cooperation in tourism and agriculture. A special interest was shown in the air transport cooperation, with Qatar Airways being one of the leading lines in this sector.
The Emir of Qatar expressed his readiness to welcome more Albanians in Qatar, who might be employed in the health care, education and construction sectors.
