The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, invited the opposition leader
once again to meet as soon as possible and unblock the justice reform.

The Albanian Prime Minister pleads the opposition to not withdraw from the process and risk taking the country back to a dark area. He said that the draft will not be touched, because it touches the essence of the reform.

Top Channel: Are you ready to meet Lulzim Basha?

Edi Rama: He has a written invitation, but I can invite him orally too. It is very important to make every effort. I am not ashamed to say that I plead the Democratic Party to not undermine the process, to not close Albania in a gray area that could be a dark area in the integration process.

Top Channel: Why don’t you tolerate and simplify the four institutions, or to even allow voting with 2/3rd of the votes?

Edi Rama: I wouldn’t be pleading the Democratic Party to come and see the national interest, if it was the government at risk. It is not the government in question now. It is the fate of the people and of our country. It is not a matter of bargains, but the essence of the reform should not be damaged. This is a huge lack of seriousness, because we worked for one year and a half on a draft that was confirmed by the Venice Commission and the Democratic Party itself. Now they are coming up with another draft. This is a barricade to block the justice reform”.

The full interview will be on Top Channel’s “Top Story” this Thursday. Rama speaks about decriminalization, but in the mean time there are insinuations about the future coalition with the Socialist Movement for Integration.
