Prime Minsiter Edi Rama held a meeting with the diplomatic body accredited in Tirana today, for celebrating his duty.
Rama valued the support that the European countries, and especially the United States, have given to Albania by turning cooperation into friendship.
“In these difficult moments, international friends have been close to Albania. Partnership with our friends makes us grateful to them”, Rama declared.
The government leader reiterated Albania’s EU integration ambitions, emphasizing that his government will do everything possible to deserve the candidate status.
“The June 23rd elections completed one of the integration conditions. War against organized crime and corruption will be among our priorities. Our team will work in this direction with new strategies”, Rama declared.
He also announced an international conference that will be held on November, in which they will discuss the war tactics against these negative phenomena.
Another point mentioned by Rama was the economy, for which, as he said, the executive has been prepared for deep reforms and a new government structure.
“We are not out of solution for the economic stalemate. We will return the economy to normality sooner than later”, Rama declared.
He promised transparence about foreign investments, which, according to him, in many cases have been covered by the dark shadow of the past government’s affairs.
“The Albanian diplomatic service will come with a new approach. We are determined to reinforce the strategic partnership with Italy, Turkey and Greece”, Rama declared.
He didn’t leave without mentioning the conflict in Syria: “Albania’s stance on Syria is supporting the United States”, the Prime Minister confirmed, closing his speech by saying:
“We see our future with the European Union and the United States of America, our strategic allies. An alliance that through their ambassadors here in Tirana, Sequi and Arvizu, now has become even stronger”.
