The US Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Hoyt Brian Yee, had a
meeting with the Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama this Monday, as a
final effort for the majority and opposition to reach an agreement for
the crisis.
Yee said yesterday from a meeting in Montenegro that the Parliaments must represent and defend the interests of citizens. MPs who boycott are avoiding their responsibilities and ignoring the advice of US President, Theodore Roosevelt, who said that it is better to be a courageous leader in the arena than a critical observer from outside”.
Brian Yee will meet with Albanian high-level officials and representatives of this opposition. This is seen as the last effort of the international partners which could bring a solution to the crisis, while the majority appears certain to go on with the June 18th elections and the opposition insists for technical government.
