Despite an investment made two years ago, the Kavaja hospital has visible humidity and many other problems which show that the reconstruction works have been of low standards.

These complaints were also mentioned by the hospital staff during a meeting with the opposition leader, Edi Rama.

Doctors say that scarce investments are only one side of the medal. They also don’t have specialist doctors and the equipments are out of order.

“We need surgeons and anaesthetists from Kavaja. People don’t have to travel to Durres for an appendicitis or interventions that can be realized here”, doctors said.

The opposition leader declared that the system has declined. Many health centres and hospitals have been completely ruined, although the budget has been the same for many years.

“There have been investments, but without a professional judgement and without a proper division of roles and responsibilities. Without mentioning the humidity in walls right after the reconstruction works, or the appliances that arrive and do not work. These are the cherry on the top. I agree with you that we need to get organized in the human resources aspect, so that we can have the necessary people on the right time. We cannot go far with this disorganized system that is connected to other reasons, not the ones that make the hospital system dignified throughout Albania”, Rama declared.

The Socialist Party is presenting their health program, promising a new system, after considering the existing one as failed.
