The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, announced that the emergency situation is over, and now they need to start the phase for repairing consequences.
Rama said there will be legal initiatives for residences and businesses to be covered by insurance against floods.
“We are the only country that doesn’t have a law which forces homes and businesses to be covered by insurance from flood. The affected people are forced to only received something from the state budget, which cannot always cover it. It is very important for citizens and businesses that same as other countries, we need to take measures to get insurance form natural disasters”, Rama said.
Representatives of the Civilian Emergency said that this time there were many bridged damaged, 65 in total, due to the high speed of the water flow, while embankments and drainage canals still remain a problem.
