Rama: “Judges and Prosecutors vetting, red line to not be touched by politics”

“I have not accepted and I will not accept the reserved posts. We offer a
solution to make the opposition part of the Parliament voting for the
members of the Supreme Judiciary and Prosecution Councils. We are ready
to negotiate for this”, Rama said in a press release this Friday.

He added that the Democratic Party doesn’t want to break the fraternity with the corrupted judges which they have used for their purposes so far.

“If they want the reform, they can vote it by accepting to not influence the vetting of judges and prosecutors. DP doesn’t want it because they would have to break the fraternity with corrupted prosecutors and judges. This is not just my opinion. This is a wide public opinion”, Rama added.

“However, until the day when the DP will vote the justice reform, the vetting will be the red line. We will either do the justice reform and bring down this system, or we will not vote anything that doesn’t guarantee this major purpose, which is for Albania to become EU partners in 10 years”, Rama said.
