Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Socialist Party visited the city of Elbasan to introduce the “Revival” program.
The opposition leader, Edi Rama, spoke about the recent political developments in our country and the SP coalition with the Socialist Movement for Integration.
“Today we are a bigger coalition. Our unification with SMI has changed only one thing. The victory vote today is protected from theft. Berisha and his family party are lonely in their defeat. But our coalition will be bigger when it will enter the battlefield, and his family party will be even more lonely”, Rama declared.
Rama guaranteed the citizens that nothing has changed from the values and principles of the “Revival” program. He declared that the SP commitment has not changed a bit.
As for the accusations launched by the Democratic Party spokesperson regarding the January 21st events, Rama promised that there will be justice.
“Laura cried today on behalf of the people who ordered the January 21st killings. I would tell her that June 23rd will open way for justice, and will save you and the Democratic Party from the biggest responsible for the January 21st killings”, Rama declared.
Referring to the tragic accidents and the murders that took place in the past 24 hours, where five women died, Rama mentioned the inability of the state police to prevent crime.
“Crime is skyrocketing because the police cupola sells its operations”, Rama declared, promising that within the first 100 days of government, the police will have its dignity back.
As for agriculture, Rama declared that the SP proposed the removal of VAT for machineries and agricultural seeds, and also to remove excise for oil in this sector. But all these propositions were once rejected by the Democratic Party, and they are presenting them now as a novelty.
As for taxes, Rama reiterated that SP will reduce taxes for small businesses and even the income tax for all wages, since the progressive tax will make better paid people pay more, and poorly paid people pay less.
MP Eduard Shalsi declared that the country’s economy is facing difficulties due to the failed government privatizations, which bring no low cost or any profit for the Albanian citizens.
Erjon Veliaj, coordinator of the Socialist Party for Youth, spoke about the needs of the part of the population. Veliaj declared that the Albanians need more education and that the illiteracy level has reached 15%. He criticized the government of being incapable to create new jobs for youth.
