The Socialist
Leader Edi Rama gave the first press release after the decision of the
Electoral College for the Tirana mayoral race, saying that the
government is keeping Albania away from Europe, only for their own
interests.

“What happened with the elections in Tirana, proved not only that Berisha steals elections, and never wins them, but also that our government is closing their ears and are not listening to the international community”, Rama declared.

The Socialist Party leader asked the international community to react not only with benevolent predication this time, because the robbery was made in broad daylight and the Court refused to review the case.

“The Albanian people need to hear the truth and only the truth from our precious friends and partners. They cannot pair up with the election thieves, with the judges that have been connected with the government and that are keeping Albania away from the democratic Europe, by openly betraying and violating the values, the principles and integration standards of EU and NATO”, Rama declared.

The Socialist leader declared that the political course to be followed by the Socialist Party, will serve for putting the country in the right way, based on the great aspirations of the Albanian citizens.

“For enabling such a serious dialogue, we must initially accept that what happened on May 8th was far from any international democratic standard, and as such it must never be repeated, but we do not expect to hear this from Berisha”, Rama declared.
