The attention in Vlore has shifted in repairing the Seleveci arginature,
which is the last barrier before the Vjosa river enters the city of
Vlore.
Prime Minister Rama visited the ongoing works for reinforcing the embankment, also helped by private businesses.
“This is a battle against the nature and against the past. The local residents say that such flows have not been seen since 1971. A colossal work has been done for freeing the canals that had been collecting waste materials for the past 20 years. Certainly, there still more to do”, Rama declared.
The Prefect of Vlore, Etiona Hoxha, declared that the situation in this arginature has been under control even thanks to the cooperation with private businesses.
The OSHEE leader, Ardian Cela, rejected the opposition’s accusations for interrupting the energy in Novosela.
Rama visited some flooded families in the Fitore village, Novosela, where the opposition said the government’s presence has not been seen.
“We will face this emergency that isn’t over yet. Forecasts say more rains are expected”, Rama declared.
Today’s warm sun helped dropping the water level, but residents are still preparing for possible floods during the weekend.
