Edi Rama, the Albanian opposition leader, has gathered the Political
Council of the Socialist Party, also known as the Council of the Elders,
in which were present Arta Dade, Servet Pellbumi, the former Socialist
President, Rexhep Mejdani, the former Prime Minister, Ylli Bufi, Luan
hajdaraga and Bashkim Zeneli.

The meeting lasted more than 90 minutes. The SP refused to issue any declaration about what was discussed.

Confidential sources confirmed for Top Channel that the SP political council has discussed about the Presidential elections and the opposition’s strategy and options.

The sources do not give any details about the concrete propositions that were discussed today, especially if there are any news about the Socialist candidate for President.

The Socialist Political Council meeting also focused on the Electoral Reform.

The opposition leader asked the opinions of the elders about the Central Election Commission and the complaint process.

The Council of Elders is an advising organization within the SP, created after a suggestion made by the Socialist leader by the end of the National Assembly.
