Rama: First round, without a candidate

The opposition leader, Edi Rama, confirmed what everyone was expecting: the first presidential voting session has failed, before there is no candidate yet.

According to the Socialist leader, this situation creates the premises
for a new crisis that Albania doesn’t need just a few months before the
third test in Brussels for the EU candidate status.

“The first round for the Presidential election was burned without candidates, and the process enters in crisis, but the crisis is always a double sided medal. One side has the tunnel of inability, and the other has the possibility to turn the crisis into a chance from where will derive a higher quota than that before the crisis. I hope that there are more chances for the second, if there is political will”, Rama declared.

Rama mentioned the four propositions that the opposition made regarding the reforms. According to Rama, the meeting of the parliamentary party leaders should happen as soon as possible.

“Why is this called an unnatural mixture, the joining of these four points at the agenda of a serious meeting between all Parliamentary forces, and there is no time to deal with them on the same time? What blocks a group of good willing people to sit in and treat these four priorities for helping the international friends to help Albania this autumn? The SP will not cease the efforts for opening way to the political reason of our country, in this delicate and historical moment, by communicating, dialoguing and cooperating with every political party that it wants, and find a decent and stable solution for each of the four points”, Rama declared.
