Rama: Farmers in misery

While meeting the residents of the Diber commune, the SP leader, Edi
Rama, presented the “Albanian Revival” program and underlined the
difficult situation of the Albanian farmers.

Rama reminded to the residents of Maqellara, Muhiri and Kastrioti that the electoral promises of the Democratic Party not only were never realized, but on the contrary.

“Berisha declared four and eight years ago that oil price would go 40 ALL per litre, but only the oil tax per liter today is 80 ALL. We are the second country in Europe with the largest amount of water per square kilometre, and we cannot irrigate our agricultural lands; we don’t have tap water in many areas of the country. This is a shame”, Rama declared.

The opposition leader declared that incapability, corruption and the bad intentions of the Albanian government have left the Albanian farmers in medieval conditions, especially the areas that vote the DP.

“The Albanian areas that mostly vote the DP are the poorest, the most abandoned, the most destroyed. How is this possible? Because that’s how the DP needs you: unemployed, hungry… they want you only for today. They don’t see the citizens of this country as people, but as voters”, Rama declared.

Rama declared that the SP program has a special part of the budget planned for the irrigation system, and that he will commit personally to help the development of farms.

“Today’s conditions are medieval, it doesn’t look that we are on the 21st century, in the middle of Europe. I will be the strongest defender of every Albanian farmer who wants to live by a honest job”, Rama declared.
