Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Socialist Party is concerned for the alarming levels of the national
debt, and warned the government that they are driving the country
towards a financial catastrophe that will have irreparable consequences.
“In order to defend the monetary value of the savings of every family, of wages and pensioners, and to save our country from a financial catastrophe that could turn into a reality tomorrow, due to the removal of the public debt, we must agree and set a new limit to the debt”, Rama declared.
“We must agree for the Bank of Albania to legally calculate the national debt in proportion of the GDP and the Bank of Albania should be obliged by law to notify the Parliament for any case when the government violates the public debt limit. The Bank of Albania must calculate the debt in proportion of the GDP, and publish it, as in other country, so that the upcoming governments will take no arbitrary role against the citizens or in damage of the national interest”, the SP leader declared.
Rama declared that these propositions were a helping hand to Prime Minister Berisha and his government. The Socialist leader reminded the unemployment figures, referring to the official statistics:
“INSTAT is completely dependent to the government, and it has reported that the unemployment in Albania has increased in the second trimester and that the newly created jobs for the second trimester of this year are 10.000 less than in 2009. The government promised 160.000 new jobs, but according to INSTAT we have lost 51.000 jobs”, Rama declared.
