Rama: Corruption in energy

In the meeting of the Socialist Program for an Albanian Rebirth,
focusing on energy, the Socialist leader, Edi Rama, declared that the
energy sector is facing disaster due to the wrong government policies and corruptive privatizations.
“This is a corruption model that blocks competition, transparency and efficiency, and the government has extended its monopolies and the exploitation of natural assets by putting a public asset in service of a minor group of selected businessmen who have close political and financial ties with a government members that controls this sector”, Rama declared.
According to Rama, all costs of this corruption have fallen on the citizens.
“The electricity today is 65% more expensive than in 2003. Oil is three times more expensive, and there is no misunderstanding here”, Rama declared.
