The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, declared at the Socialist Parliamentary Group meeting that despite the fact that the agenda of the opposition is not to open the EU accession negotiations, the majority is ready for dialogue.
“Their fantasies about the government capturing the judiciary, fed by fear, are nonsense. Otherwise, the EU and USA would have never been part of it. The opposition’s agenda does not match with that of a political class that wants to guarantee the accession negotiations. We have the obligation to keep creating conditions for dialogue with the opposition”, Rama said.
He informed the MPs about the Davos Forum participation, saying that Albania marked progress and that the opinion of the EU officials is that the negotiations should open very soon.
“In all meetings, it was clear that the accession negotiations for Albania are about to be started. The judiciary reform, the work with the vetting law and the clarity that this process cannot be blocked, is a solid foundation for receiving a clear recommendation from the European Commission for opening the accession negotiations”, Rama said.
