Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future After an urgent meeting of the Socialist leadership, the opposition
leader, Edi Rama, presented two stances regarding the Presidential
election and the electoral reform.
Rama accused the Albanian Prime Minister of trying to buy the opposition MPs to vote for his candidate.
“Two Socialist MPs were reached this Saturday night by people sent by the Prime Minister, who asked their vote for the Presidential candidate. This happened in 2007 and is happening again, since the President needs ballots that he doesn’t have and will not have for the rest of his days as Prime Minister, especially today, when the countdown of his old power for robbing Albania has started”, Rama declared.
The Socialist leader, Edi Rama, declared that the political force that he leads asks for a consensual President.
“We want a consensual president that incarnates the national unity in these important times for Albania. We need a President that guarantees the Constitution and an impartial President for the next elections”, Rama declared.
The Socialist leader underlined that they need a President that will not be the notary of another party, including the Socialists.
“We want a President for all Albanians, and for this we will communicate with every Parliamentary force, and for this we will give our efforts until the end of this Constitutional process”, Rama declared.
Speaking about the electoral reform, Rama valued that this is a priority and that the EU and US have reiterated that it should be concluded before the Parliament starts the election off the President.
“We have taken in consideration all the OSCE-ODIHR recommendations for bthe Electoral Reform”, Rama declared.
