Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future After failing to gather a meeting with the Parliamentary Parties in
order to discuss a solution from the political stalemate, the opposition
leader, Edi Rama, blamed the Prime Minister Sali Berisha.
Rama says that integration is not on Berisha’s agenda, and that his only goal is to stay on power with a government that now looks like a wrecked ship that needs to be saved at any cost. Rama added that the price to save it is the frightening spiral of debts that this government has created for the Albanians.
“He’s interested only in power, not integration. Unfortunately, he has nothing to do with Europe, he has no vision, not even in his governing plan, and not even in tastes. Their vision is to keep reigning over the Albanians at any cost, by violating the law in every step they take. We cannot allow this. The EU cannot integrate us with this level of governing”, Rama declared.
Rama commented the position of Netherlands, saying that other countries are also looking for tangible reforms from Albania.
“The announcement of the Dutch government is not the only one that clearly says where the problem stands, for everyone who has ears. Why are these laws like the immunity law? Because the Prime Minister used to say that the immunity was the last thing remaining to fix. But the last thing remaining to fix is in fact removing him and his government from power”, Rama declared.
