Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The opposition leader, Edi Rama, accused the Prime Minister, Sali Berisha, of lying with the unemployment figures.
Rama used the Bank of Albania figures to illustrate unemployment as a constant concern raised by the opposition.
“The Albanian Bank study covers 10 years, from 2000 to 2010. It was released on February 3rd, only a few days ago. The increase of the working force and of employed people in 10 years is dramatic. The PM only accuses the opposition of lying with our declarations that there are 1 million unemployed people in Albania. Let all Albanians see the table presented by the bank of Albania, which clearly shows who is lying, the opposition which says that the unemployed in Albania have reached one million, or the PM who speaks about increasing employment and who says that the opposition lies”, Rama declared.
By considering the government as corrupted and unable to change the unemployment situation in Albania, Mr. Rama mentioned the criminal situation in the country, after a series of murders and robberies that have taken place in some districts.
“We live in a country that is shocked each day from murders, explosions and armed robberies. Criminal bands kill Albanians, together with young desperate people who enter the crime underworld for surviving to poverty and unemployment. The state kills Albanians with firearms, and the PM calls the killers heroes, by openly attacking those who fight crime, such as the General Prosecutor. The Police are led by thugs with Prime Ministerial immunity, who abuse with their power for personal benefits. Life is unprotected, the property is unprotected and business is unprotected. The future is unprotected”, Rama declared.
According to Rama, the Socialist Party has a detailed platform that will open war to crime. He added that this Friday, the SP will present the alarming figures of the crime in Albania, which have never been published.
