Linda Rama: Between Family, Work and Albania’s Future The Socialist leader, Edi Rama, declared this Wednesday that the
opposition will not vote the draft law for the Supre Court if the 13
Court verdicts for the Fier District will not be implemented. According
to him, Berisha is responsible that the integration process has ended up
this way. The Fier situation is a flagrant example of the illegality
for the United Europe where Albania aims to integrate, according to
Rama.
“Berisha accused us of looking for a bargain. I want to clarify that we are only looking for the implementation of the seven Court of First Degree decisions, four decisions of the Court of Appeal and two decisions of the Supreme Court, 13 in total, all of them in favor of the Socialist Party as winner at the Fier District. Sali Berisha is the only one to be held responsible for Albania being in a difficult EU integration process, filled with slander, accusations and mediocrity. Fier is the most flagrant example of the division of laws that are approved on paper for the integrity, and the illegal reality that has nothing to do with the EU. With a draft for the Supreme Court in Parliament and with a Supreme Court verdicts that has not been implemented, we cannot close our eyes for a justice reform while the justice that we took in court is denied by the government”, the SP leader declared.
Rama spoke about the state TV ad scandal, referring to the case reported by the Socialist Party for the Minister of Transports. He said that the resignation was the least that Olldashi should do.
“MP Eduard Shalsi handed over to the General Prosecution the suit for the flagrant law violation made by the Minister of Transports. The Minister has financed the slanderous newspaper of the Democratic Party with half a million EUR taken from the state budget, and 1 million EUR were given to the three other daily slanderous newspapers, “RD, 55 and Koha Jone”. In every normal country, a Minister caught with something like this would resign and taken under the Prosecution’s custody. This is a bomb that has damaged the Constitutional foundations, has blown up the law and has asphyxiated the spirit of our political system by touching the state’s budget directly”, Rama underlined.
Olldashi: Accusations for personal interests
The Minister of Transports, Sokol Olldashi, reacted after the Socialist Party filed a suit against him at the Prosecution for violating the law with the state owned TV ads.
“The accusations are related with Rama’s and Kokedhima’s close interests, and nothing to do with the advertisements”, Olldashi declared.
According to him, Rama has spent 300 million ALL from the Municipality fund, and only during 2007 he has spent 120 million ALL for local TVs and spots.
