The Socialist leader, Edi Rama, met the US Deputy Assistant Secretary of
State for Europe, Philip Reeker. He declared that this meeting was full
of positive energy, with thorough and open discussions.
“It was a very positive meeting, full of positive energy, with many cases to discuss in the most open and friendly way. It was another important brick on the friendship, cooperation, and intensive communication house, for pushing forward all processes related with Albania’s EU integration that are related with the further democratization of the country, with Albania’s role in the region and with Albania itself, which we want as an ally of the US and a country that should incarnate the values of our biggest ally”, Rama declared.
Without giving any further details about the meeting with the State Department, the Socialist leader gave a short answer, when asked about the value of the meeting.
“For this you must ask the State Department, but I can say that we are not only happy, but also inspired by this meeting”, Rama declared.
