The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, appeared this Monday at the
Supreme Court, for his trial against the Democratic Party MP, Edi
Paloka.
The Prime Minister has sued Paloka over slander. He refused to conciliate with Paloka in front of Judge Andi Celiku. The Head of the DP Parliamentary Group is accused for slander over the Shullazi case. Rama told the Court that this is not a personal issue, but an offense against the Prime Minister of Albania, and the public deserves to know the truth about this.
Rama promised to be present in every session of this trial. The Prime Minister also spoke about the conditions at the Supreme Court.
“This is also an opportunity to see in what state of ruin the Supreme Court currently is. One of the most important courts of our country is working under unimaginable conditions. This makes me reiterate that we will do everything possible to finalize our plan for fixing this court”, Rama declared.
Edi Paloka was not present, although he was represented by lawyer Ivi Kaso.
“We will present all of our evidence on the right time”, Kaso declared.
Besides Paloka, Rama has also sued Arben Ristani, the General Secretary of the DP.
