Race for new DP leader

Every Democratic Party member has the right to present a competing
program and some formal documents to participate in what Sali Berisha
considered a race for the new party leader, a process that he believes
will save this party from division.

“I think that the Democratic Party comes out of the elections very powerful, especially now that the Democratic Party is leaving history and preserving heritage. Now they may have their leader deeply rooted, and select one that is supported by everyone”, Berisha declared during the leadership meeting.

But so far we can only know with certainty who will not run for this post. “I have been General Secretary of the Democratic Party for the last 16 years, and I am one of the closest cooperators of Mr.Berisha. It has been a pleasure and great luck to cooperate with him in bad and good days. For this I will work for the leadership of the Democratic Party”, Bode declared.

“I will not run, because I have never had such ambitions. I have been lucky to cooperate with Sali Berisha, who is the architect of this modern Albania. He is the historic leader of democratic Albania, and this is what makes me proud “, Jozefina Topalli declared.

“There are others who have welcomed the race very sportfully: “I’ll run to make a program now”, declared Astrit Patozi.

“I have won and I am grateful to the electors and the wonderful residents of that district, who supported the alternative of Sali Berisha and trusted me. You will hear the names of the candidates very soon”, Noka declared.

“I think that you have been informed that this is not the moment to discuss about this. The leadership is here and you saw their decision on live TV. After this, all potential candidates will have the opportunity to express themselves. Today is not the day”, Lulzim Basha declared.

“The leadership has been working only with procedural issues, and how things will become. It is too early to speak about candidates. Five days are a long time”, Sokol Olldashi declared.

For the runners, the waiting days will be very long. But the driver of this process, as Berisha called himself, is certain about the final result.

“We have all agreed that the candidates will accept the result, and in a few time we will have a new leader”, Berisha declared after the leadership meeting.

Summer will be really hot this time for the Democratic Party.

“The Democratic Party never rests. We lost the elections and we will now work more”, Berisha added.
