Public advertisement scandal

The opposition accused the government of abusing with the public’s money
through the public advertisement. Socialist MP, Taulant Balla, reported
a concrete case when the Ministry of Defense has given a considerable
amount of money to one single media near them.

“Yesterday, Media 66 owned by Alexander Frangaj was paid with 50 million ALL by the Ministry of Defence. I don’t know why an army base would pay 50 million ALL to a media outlet”, Balla declared.

Socialist MP Eduard Shalsi accused the government of cutting funds from the people in need and spending hundreds of thousands of euros for political make-up.

“They say that they do not have money to encourage employment and for the people in need. But they have money to pay Fahri Balliu and Alexander Frangaj to fill the Albanians with lies each day”, declared the other Socialist MP, Eduard Shalsi.

The OSCE also reported preferential payments to the media. The representatives of this institution asked the government to distribute the money in a transparent process.
