In a tense situation, the Court of Fier gave today the detention measure for the 38 year old accused of the macabre murder of 8 year old Mateo Vasia two days ago in the village of Daullas.
But the relatives of the victim forced their way into the court premises, confronting the police, demanding capital punishment for the child killer.
Mateo’s family members were joined by citizens of Fier to demand a capital sentence for Klodian Çalamani.
The citizens of Fier said that they feel insecure about life and distrustful of the justice system, which a few years ago gave the 38-year-old a minimal sentence for a similar crime. The protest of Mateo’s family continued further in the main square of Fier, where the signing of a petition has started, demanding the capital punishment for Klodian Çalamani.
8-year-old Mateo Vasia was killed two days ago by his neighbor Klodian Çalamani in the latter’s house, and then buried.
The serious crime has shocked Albanians, who point the finger of blame at the court, the prosecution and the police.
