In the northern center of Albania, Shkodër, a protest called by the opposition was held today after the serious event of two days ago where 3 people lost their lives in an armed attack, including an innocent woman.
Supporters of the opposition and citizens have gathered in front of Shkodra’s town hall holding placards with the inscription “Civilization is stronger than crime”.
Opposition deputy Flamur Noka said that the message of the protest is for citizens to “stand up against the crime in power”.
“Shkodra today has become the cradle of organized crime and the only cause is Prime Minister Edi Rama and his political renaissance . That is why we are here to raise awaerness of the citizens of Shkodra and all of Albania against this crimes. Albania, which has opened the chapters of negotiations with EUand is a member of NATO, cannot be the country of organized crime, nor the cradle of the mafia. That’s why we are here, to say stop. The plan is a march, a protest march against political crime, against crime with a state face. The police have no time to deal with the law, because they are a narco-police. At a time when the police are focusing only on the fight against the opposition, this is significant.
“The police are one with the crime, as the whole regime is under the clutches of it. The message is for the citizens to stand up against the narco-regime, against the crime with power, against this regime that is trying to destroy Shkodra and all of Albania.
“Albanians cannot accept a state that is under the clutches of crime,” Noka said, among other things, in the protest.
