This afternoon, a protest was held in front of the Albanian Ministry of Health in Tirana, after the wiretaps published yesterday of the doctors of the oncology hospital.
Hundreds of citizens responded to the calls of activists after the discovery that some doctors and Oncology specialists at the “Mother Teresa” Hospital Center in Tirana, in cooperation with each other, abused their duties, and instead of providing services to patients with tumor diseases, they did the opposite, orienting them towards private hospitals for the purpose of economic benefit.
Protesters surrounded the gate of the Ministry of Health with the banner “Ministry of Death”, as they demanded the resignation of the head of this ministry as well as the head of the “Mother Teresa” hospital center.
Citizens say that the lack of medication or waiting in line cannot be tolerated.
The Tirana court has given some measures of “house arrest” and “obligation to appear” for the doctors of the Oncology hospital after the wiretapping scandal was reported.
