Protest for unpaid work
01/04/2013 00:00
The constructions at the Dames-Tepelena have stopped at 30%, but even this part has not been paid yet.
100 workers have stopped working after not being paid for 7 months. The Greek “Vega” company interrupted the work after the government stopped giving funds.
The workers were let go last December, although they have not been paid for more than half a year.
The works at the Dames-Tepelena road should have finished by 2010. Three years after the deadline, even that part that was constructed has been damaged. This 32.5 km long axis is part of the Levan-Tepelena road and should have ended by now. The government hired “Alpine Mayreder” for this work, but didn’e pay the subcontractors.
